Two goals related to peace

Short Term
In the short term commitment I would like to work at a hospital with kids that have cancer, and would like to make them laugh every day with a new joke. I would make this because the laugh helps you to prevent more diseases or to fight them. Later I would like to read them stories with positive endings that help them to have hope and to make them believe that everything is possible.
Long term
In the long term commitment I would like to help kids from Africa. It is a program in which you pay 30 dollars a month and with that money the kid you are helping will receive food and cloths and other benefits. I would like too to join an organization in which people pay for farm animals and later gave them to people that does not have money but know about farm technics and by this they would have eggs, milk and other things.

Inner Peace

Inner Peace
Inner peace is something that makes you feel good with yourself and in most of the time it does not involve other people. Inner peace could be obtain easily, for example a piece of cake can make you feel an inner peace because it might help you to calm some problems that you are having. Another way to feel inner peace is by just being alone in your room and reading a book that you enjoy. In other words obtaining inner peace could be reached by doing something that you enjoy doing. Depending on the people inner peace could be reach easily or it could be hard to reach it.

Libya's Controversy

Peace can be seen as a project that it will never be completely achieved. This is because people have different perspectives for the meaning of peace.  Several elements could prevent that the idea of peace could never be reached, such as a simple thing like difference of religion, different points of view or rivalry. In order to achieve peace in a community or in a nation, the people that form this group need to be in peace with them. Achieving peace is achieving perfection, and perfection will never be reach and in consequence it exist war and violence just like in Libya.

There is not a specific element that prevents that peace can be achieve in a certain group or community. Peace is an idea that is not reached at a hundred percent because several factors are intervening. This could be locally, nationally or internationally; the idea of peace is broken locally by the violation of the law, such as stealing or even killing. Nationally could be seen as a war inside a country that involves the citizens of a certain nation, and internationally could be seen as act of terrorism that involves different countries around the world, or it could be a problem in a certain country that later on involves other countries into the problem. These three factors that prevent that peace can be achieved can be demonstrated in Libya. Libya first started with the local problem in which it was based on the dissatisfaction of their governor Gadafi, peace was broken in this country since he started ruling because Gadafi was known because of the abuses to human rights and plans of terrorism just like Huston explains in her article titled War in Libya. Later on this problem transformed into an international problem in which The United States of America was involved and other countries too, such as France. This is an element that interrupted peace between countries, but this intervention was with the purpose of creating peace in an internationally way. Again we can observe how peace it is never reached in none of the three elements, locally, nationally and internationally. These three elements could start locally and later could turn into nationally and finally into an internationally problem; or it could start at any order, but at the end peace is always broken by human errors.

Peace is an idea of a perfect interaction between humans, but humans are imperfect. Therefore, peace it is not achieved as people wanted to. Peace is affected in a same magnitude by the three elements: locally, nationally and internationally. The only difference is that one involves more people, but at the end they all affect the meaning of peace in which is defined as “The absence of war or other hostilities” by William Green.

Respecting ideas

People have different education and different ways of seeing life. Therefore, we can’t judge people for taking a decision that we do not like or agree with, because they have their own point of view of seeing things and we have ours. Maybe we do something that we think it is right because of the education that our parents taught to us, but to other people could be the wrong way to do it, that is the reason that every human is unique.  In order to be in harmony with the people that surround us, we need to respect the decisions that every people have, just like religion, in which people is not forcing other people to be catholic or Jewish. We need to respect the decision of every person because that is what it gives our personality.

What is happening in Libya

There are violent protests and wars in Libya mainly cause by Muammar el-Qaddafi. Muammar el-Qaddafi started his regimen since 1969, this converted him in the person that has ruled a country with the longest time. The rebels, which are people from the cities, began with a relatively organized group of antigovernment opponents in Benghazi, its spread to the capital of Tripoli. This organization was taking over control of their cities and to defend them from Qaddafi’s soldiers. The rebels asked for help to western countries and later the rebels were disappointed because they didn’t respond on time to their call. One of the countries that support the rebels is France and other eastern countries. Later on the U.N. tried to create a tactic which was a no-fly zone, this tactic was suggested in order that Qaddafi’s air forces didn’t bomb the rebels.

The Coalition for Adolescent Girls

         Memo

The Coalition for Adolescent Girls

Girls can make a change in their countries by getting an education. In several eastern countries like India, Somalia, Pakistan, Niger, Mali and Swaziland most of teenage girls that are under nineteen years old got marry by arranges that were made between the future husband and the girl’s father. Therefore the teenage girl’s main responsibility is based on taking care of their children and house, by consequence they do not continue with their education. According to studies of the organization Girls Discovered, girls are more likely to improve their live lives and the societies by getting seven years of education, this is because the men in this countries that have a job, the money they receive from their paying, they only invest thirty two percent into their families, on the other hand the women invest ninety two percent of their paying for the beneficence of her family. It is shown to that girls who reach their adolescence begin it with good health, but latter on because of the lack of education and information the teenage girls start to be on child labor at very young ages in some parts of the Eastern countries.
The organization Coalition for Adolescent Girls is focus on helping teenage girls from different parts around the world. This organization only takes girls because they want that teenage girls continue with their education. If girls stay in school they will be healthier and will obtain skills, and they will have the option to marry later and when they do, the income they receive will invest it into her family. Coalition for Adolescent Girls picks only girls too to their program because there are around six hundred billion teenage girls without education, and only a small part of the international aid is used for the benefit for these girls, and it is shown that “adolescent girls are the key to breaking this cycle.” This organization focuses on girls from India, Mali, Pakistan, Swaziland and Niger, because fifty percent of the girls in India are underweight while men are not; Pakistan three percent between fifteen and twenty nine years old tries to prevent HIV; Swaziland twenty two percent are HIV positive; and Niger eighty percent between twenty and twenty four years old have no education.
The organization Coalition for Adolescent Girls had been working for fifteen years long, and was founded by The United Nation Foundation and the Nike Foundation in 2005, and is joined with more than thirty leading international organizations. The goal of this organization is to help more than six hundred million adolescent girls around eastern countries and others, by giving them education in summer camps to inspire them to continue with an education for getting a better future. Forty nine percent of the girls in these camps will be leaders listed in groups with only girls. “Girls count a research that demonstrates how providing support to girls from ten through eighteen improves their lives, improves society as a whole.”

Institute by Greg

Central Asia Institute

In this film we can observe how education is essential for the progress of the community we are involve. In this case Greg Morison created institutes in northern part of Afghanistan and southern parts of Pakistan, and by this help that Greg provided it will help the community to grow stronger. As it was mention on the film “education is the key.” Education is the one who made a community stronger and safer, because as we observed on the film the people in Afghanistan did not have clean water, therefore some of the kids died because of diseases.
Thanks to the help that was provided by Greg this people will have a better future because they will know how to read and write, and in the case of the women they will know how to weave and in some point they could sell clothes. We can observe how one person can make a difference in this world. Instead of declaring war to those countries, we should provide charity so we can create a bond with the countries we are helping and at the same time we are helping to the development of poor villages or cities.

Peace

When you think of peace what do you think?

When a I think of peace I think of world peace in which the countries made a document in which it states that there will be no more wars. I also think that there will be no more criminals on the streets, and people do not need to worry if they forgot to close the door or if they forgot to put the car alarm.
When I think of peace, the first thing that comes to my mind is that it is almost an impossible goal to accomplish in many places, because there is always going to be conflict. In one way or another there is always something that broke the state of peace.
When I hear the word peace I always thought of a perfect place in which there is no evil or bad feelings in which people try to hurt other people, I think of a place in which everyone is getting along and there are no differences between human beings, and that there are no ethnic racism and other types of discrimination between people.
Peace is a word that always comes to my mind when I am alone at home because there is no noise and no one around me that is being annoying. I also think of a place in which there are no problems, nothing to worry about.
